  1. Kaye, You did say your arm touched some of the plant?! When you were cutting it out!? Im hoping you washed your arms before you used your arms to push your hair out of your face! 😬😵‍💫 Yikes! I hope you'll be okay.

  2. hi kaye 🤗
so glad you found this poison plant and got rid of it.
you're definitely putting in the work. your diligence is, and will continue to, pay off.
ill take some of that rain here in southern california, zone 10b. tfs

  3. I have what I thought was a volunteer watermelon plant. I let it do its thing, and it grew straight up. Then I noticed it had wicked spikes all over it. Then it produced fruit that had spikes on it too. It's a mean little bugger. The leaves are identical to a watermelon and the fruit is pale green with dark green stripes. I had three of them and pulled up two but left the other one cuz curiosity..killing the cat and all. Anyone familiar with mine?

  4. Several years ago I had some of this in my horse lot. I got rid of it pretty quick! I called it Death Angel Trumpet. Bad stuff. TY, Kaye!

  5. Thank you for sharing so that others can be aware of the dangers. I pulled a lot of this plant out of my garden last year. I diligently tried to track it down and dispose of it before it dispersed it’s seeds. This year my achilles heel is going to be Indian Hemp which I need to pull and dispose of before it goes to seed and spreads.

  6. I had that same plant brought in from manure last year. I let it grow it was about 5 ft. Tall. The flower was a very light purple or blue color. The flower looked kind of like a petunia but bigger. I did pull it up after it died out. Had no idea it was poison.

  7. Yes, we've had that at our farm and I made sure to get rid of it. Yes, it has a pretty flower, almost looks like a hibiscus flower. Good sleuthing!!

  8. I had those plants all over the place around my barn. . I took a hoe to them. They are hard to cut down. I didn't know about the poison.
They do have pretty white flowers and the humming bird moth goes crazy over them.
I would turn on my headlights on the truck just to see the dozen of moth's flying to the flowers. I never broke out by touching them. I guess I got lucky.
Finally kept mowing and they faded away.

  9. Wow Kaye – What a dangerous plant growing among your grapes! Pays to survey your gardens every few days to get a jump on plants like this. Thanks so much for your research into this plant and so many others you have mentioned in other videos to educate others. So glad you got 4 good days of weather and had help getting more plants in the ground. Now on to the other gardens in need of your care. Have a blessed weekend..

  10. Here you are pulling it out and I have grown it on purpose. I also grow angel trumpet. I order them from a nursery here in Georgia.

  11. Thank You for sharing info on the plant. Excited for you to have accomplished so much in a few short days. Your grapes look amazing. Guessing the grapes will taste delicious.

  12. We had wild Jimson Weed at my house and in my area in Southern California. They're pretty with beautiful flowers. They never caused a problem, but I was aware they've been used as a hallucinogen and that they're poisonous.

  13. I found a horse nettle growing in a ditch and my dog grabbed a leaf and I yelled, " No!" He was fine but it s are me haha. God bless!

  14. I'm sure you got your Jimsonweed from the manure. Horses, pigs, no livestock will touch it. I've seen pig lots devoid of plants, except for many 10 foot tall Daturas. The flowers are pretty cool looking, but the plant totally stinks.

  15. Oh my gosh!!! Keye I have that plant in my lettuce pot!!! I live in Puerto Rico Rico, maybe one seed came in the lettuce seeds. I’m very thankful for your information 🙏. I have to throw the lettuce??? Blessings… take care 🤗👋

  16. I planted some of that before I found out it is toxic….it has beautiful purple/white flowers….when I found out it is toxic…I pulled them up and threw them away. Hope you didn't get any of that on you. Take care Kaye. ❤🐱🐱🐱❤🤠❤

  17. I had a moment of panic 😂 when you said Moon Flower, especially since I planted them this year. I grew them one year and they were beautiful flowers. I have never heard of the poison one by any of the names listed. Take care!

  18. This, is a good medicine plant when used correctly. Ask a qualified herbalist who KNOWS how to use it. It loves to grow around barnyards.
Great to stop asthma attacks! Pain too.
    Used correctly.💖
    Do not use internally.
Btw, plants show up because we Need them.
Datura stramonium (Genus/species) is common in Southeast.
Other species grow other areas of U.S. as with most plants, All Daturas aren’t necessarily used the same way for the same ailments. Need a proper Botanical I.D. /Name then research from this name. Common names are like nicknames, lots of plants & people have the same nicknames, which can be confusing:) 😉 ❤

  19. Nice to hear you got some good help. Love the informational video ! I have grown the true ‘moonflower’ in the morning glory family, several years back.. Blooming at night with a wonderful sent. Having brilliant, large blooms. It was climbing all over my front deck railing pretty neat.

  20. I have something that looks similar that gets the spikes but grows on continuous vines and grows up trees, just every where. Not sure what it is.
