Plant Propagation

Can I Separate?

I want to repot these bc the plastic pot I bout it in (currently in) is very tight and I can only image the mess of roots pushing up against the pot.

Can I separate these seemingly 2 separate plants into 2 different pots? How would I without damaging the roots

I’m not an expert but I usually let the plant decide. If it comes apart easily then I separate them, but if I have to destroy roots to do it I would rather just repot the whole thing and not risk losing the otherwise healthy plants.

Pull it out of the pot and gently massage the dirt and roots until the plants begin to separate. Some slight root damage won’t be a huge deal.

Cut the plastic off. Rip it open and pull them apart. Shouldn’t take much effort as they both will have their own root systems. You could also hose the root ball off. Which will make dividing easier! Don’t worry if some roots break. They will regrow!

I’ve separated smaller ones that were connected at the base just fine! This will be ok, other people gave good advice on getting this baby out of that pot too
