Plant Propagation

Will my pothos rot?

I read online that hot glue can be used to seal the end of the stem that was cut to prevent it from rotting but it’s starting to turn brown under the glue. Will it rot? And what is that white fuzzy stuff on the root? Mold? Ugh this is so frustrating because I’m running out of plants to propagate because everything keeps dying 😭😭😭 Also will it grow another root like that before it grows secondary roots? I don’t really know what I’m doing LOL I’m new to this and want to learn. Thank you! 🙂

I also added a little bit of hydrogen peroxide in the water a few days ago since I propagated this from a plant that was rotting. Since then, the leaf in the photo began unfurling

wherever you’re getting that info from- stop taking advice from there 💀the hot glue cooked the root and the cells died, that’s why it turned brown

My advice is either to suspend the root (not the stem) into water, perhaps by cutting a hole into some clingfilm or however else. OR putting the stem into wet perlite. that minimizes the chance for the stem to rot and provides the optimal conditions to grow new roots.

EDIT: the fuzzy stuff on the roots is just the root hairs, completely normal.

Instead of hot glue I’ve used super glue and candle wax, they would probably work better.
