First time propogating anything, but thoroughly impressed with how happy this cutting has been chilling in the water for a few months (the two smaller clusters of leaves in the center are new growth!)
After reading through a bunch of threads, I know the general rule of thumb is wait for the roots to have roots before tranfering into soil, so I think this is getting close. This is a desperate attempt to save what is left of my late MIL's dwarf umbrella tree, so I want to set it up for success as much as I can!
The main plant is still around, but I alternated between not enough water and too much before I learned what it wanted to be happy, so it's gone from being a tall, lush green plant to woody on the lower 2/3s.
Is this little guy ready for the big leagues?

I would def let the roots develop more, just to ensure its success!
Yes! Let it get a big ole root ball!
