Plant Propagation

Where to cut my curly spider babies?

Hi, new to propagating (and first post ever since I joined, which is daunting)- my standard spider plants have a more straightforward visual guide for where to cut spiderettes, but I’m unsure about where to separate this curly one. The mother plant was a gift and started as a cutting, so I don’t know if I should remove the whole stem in between the sprouts or leave it as part of the upper plant and prop from there?

So, cut at both 1 and 2? Or just at 2? (Option 3: it doesn’t matter, wing it they’ll grow regardless)

Personally I would leave them a little longer. They will get bigger on the plant and be a bit sturdier for propping when you cut them. You can even put them in water while still attached and grow roots before cutting 🙂
