The really long flower has a nectar or something at its tip; and are the purple protrusions just more flowers coming in? I’d love some insight if anyone has time.
I got a smaller one that has a purple flower on top. They are gorgeous.

That looks like a *Mammillaria* cactus with fruit (the purple things) and a false flower (the orange thing) added for visual interest, likely by the seller. I’m not sure what the long structure is, but it’s not part of the cactus. *Mammillaria* often flower in a ring -near where the fruit is- and they’re shaped more like “traditional” flowers with distinct petals and stamens.
