Is this a good solution for gnats?

I have not put hardly any time into my plants at all. When I came back they looked horrible. As you can see way underwatered and many gnats everywhere most of them dead.
So I decided to bring them outside and do a cleanup of my basement grow room. But now that I've taken the plants outside, I plan to change the water and I've noticed that there are answers swarming all over the plants at this point, eating the dead bugs etc.
I don't know if this is a really good solution or really bad idea? Any thoughts? I don't know how to change the photo order so it's the last one that has the ants on it LOL

Looks like Aphid husks to me. If so, you can give them a high pressure spray down and blast as much as possible away. Get your nutrient water sorted out and if it’s not too hot outside, keep them outside for awhile and let some of the natural predators like lady bugs and wasps go to town on the remaining population.

Aphids not gnats. Gnats are small flies, mostly harmless but the larvae can damage roots sometimes.
