  1. Hi Kaye, I just wanted to chime in on the moles eat voles comment. Moles are strictly insectivores but will also eat plant roots. I don't know if shrews are found in your area but shrews look kind of like a mole. Shrews are carnivorous and will eat voles. Hope this helps.

  2. I'm so excited that tree made it to Tennessee, how'd I miss the spoon booth we all need a jam spoon ! Plus I love wooden spoons. Wreck jars are my favorite. Also I heard if I you put a glass dome over your starter it's like the fancy heater being pushed today. I'll send you a photo

  3. Yes, I have one of those natural soap, bag/scrubber thingys, and I love it. It's great for finishing off the last little scraps of soap. And it's great at exfoliating, too.

  4. What a wonderful visit you had!!! My grandparents were farmers they rarely left the farm. So I understand. Good you had a safe trip.

  5. Roquefort is delicious and something my Mom used to make was Welsh Rabbit. I haven’t heard those two in years….years! Delicious…

  6. So glad you enjoyed your trip to Idaho. I live in Eagle which is a little town north-west of Boise. Wish I would have known you were coming to our wonderful Idaho and about the conference. Would have loved to have gone. Love doc Jones……

  7. Cool stuff. Obviously, a really fun trip. That Irish cookbook …. you were listing all sorts of tasty sounding things. Attempting all that stuff for the very first time, you probably should have an independent taster to help you decide if you were successful or not. Just let me know when I should come over. And the Amish cookbook …. see if they have shoo-fly pie in there – a favorite from my childhood (I grew up in Lancaster, PA, Amish headquarters, where many of their special treats were readily available). Then there's chicken corn soup….. Hope I get a call soon.

  8. Like you, I had the same experience with Mary last year. She is exactly the same in real life as what you see in video. I was so sad that we were not able to make it this year specifically because I wanted to sit in on Mary’s classes (others as well 😊). I’m so glad you had a wonderful experience! We live in Washington so it’s very nice to have such a quality conference in the area. Your joy in all you experienced is evident! God Bless You, thank you for sharing.

  9. What fun you had! I would have been in hog heaven looking at all of these goodies! My husband and I have often talked about driving up to Amish country but then what do we do with the garden? I’m so glad you could get away and enjoy yourself! You are an inspiration! I’m sitting in the grocery store parking lot not wanting to go inside. I’m off work today and enjoying doing exactly what I want!
