Plant Propagation

Help me propagate this awesome hydrangea tree!

Anyone want to give me advice on how to propagate clippings from this awesome hydrangea tree? It’s GIGANTIC, and I have to prune it every so often anyways so I figured I should try propagating. I’ve tried putting clippings in root fertilizer powder and keeping them in water to see the root growth but it’s been about two weeks and while the clippings look alive, I see no roots and no new growth. Since it’s a hardwood I also tried planting some in compost soil (still used the root powder) and I don’t feel too optimistic about those either…. Thoughts? Tips? I want details hah. Where to actually cut clippings properly, which leaves and buds to cut off, how long til I see some change? Help?

Best of luck!! Have you put your cuttings in a plastic bag or plastic clear box for the extra humidity? No direct sun, just a bright location.

Beautiful tree. Keep us updated on your progress.
