Personally, I would not cut it as it’s not a very mature plant. As the roots grow, it will become hard and harder to remove it from the glass ball, regardless of the size of the stem.

What if you dont cut it at all and grow it in water. There’s additives to give it nutrition and ways to keep it algae free. I kept a monstera cutting in water for 3 years once
