we just moved into a century home in michigan that had a really buggy compost. i started a proper pile using a dog pen which didn’t help the gnats, flies and mosquitoes which are always pretty bad in south central michigan. so i started some mosquito dunks and have been turning the compost with the bacillus thuringiensis enhanced water and organic matter.
at first it was unintentional but i was hoping the toxins might suppress the pests. now i found an article with more details on how to make biopesticide compost and i hope i get good pest suppression.
