Growing your own food doesn’t have to be expensive. You can easily find cheaper gardening materials if you just keep looking. Recently, I found seeds a the Dollar Tree for a quarter! And I also found Coco Coir for $1.25. If you are going to splurge a little, focus on the quality of your seed starting soil. You will thank me later!

Ive use dollar tree seeds and they were 50%/ 50% germination…but I wasnt really trying…planting seeds straight in soil outside…ect. I was still working full time, kids …starting their adult lives….grandbabies. I was like well they will grow or they wont. not really tried to start from seed…just buying plants from TS and going from there. This is really interesting, Im going to follow your advice and see where we get too this year. especially since I have gotten my raised beds in the "Party " Zone. Thanks for the Info…Lets plant!!! Lets have a #GARDEN PARTY !!!!
I grew some of the yellow beans from the 4 for a dollar rack. I didn't have the best germination rate but even though I only had like 2 or 3 plants, that's STILL not a bad price per plant. I got some fresh beans for 25 cents.
Howdy Robyn! I love to garden, but landlord says everything must be grown in pots. Must not dig up the yard….in ground watering system ya know!
The Cayenne we get from Dollar Tree always come up fine, haven't tried many others but I'm probably going to stop by in the next few days and pick more up!
