Dig it out and replace it with stones, even poisoning only works for a few years

Kill weeds, dig it out, fill with pretty rocks.

Fill it with chamomile.

Id grow heaps of ice plant, sedum and echeveria in there, just keep dividing and direct sticking cuttings until it’s all full. Enjoy the inevitable carnage of a wayward tire and help it recover! Years of entertainment!

I’m usually the last to say this, but I’d just concrete that. Those driveway slits are so dumb maintaince-wise that I’m not sure what people were thinking when they pour (or don’t, rather) them. Otherwise, if the car isn’t going to be there much and you’d rather something nice to look at, there’s tons of thick, low ground covers that are easy peasy to keep edged and shaped with vertical snipping. It gets a lot of hate, but Alyssum, for example, which you can buy groups of plugs for quite cheaply and self seeds for thicker cover.

I prefer dichondra over grass seed in these little strips. It always looks great and it’s pretty hardy, and no-mow. Otherwise native violets or creeping thyme which the bees will love

Lol why are we down voting to fill it with rocks?? That’s what I was going to suggest too 😅 The one at my house has been filled with fallen leaves 🤣 which block the grasses or greens from growing anyway

A clumping zoysia mixed with a flowering ground cover like a pratia would look nice, and still be functional when you do have cars over the top.
