How is this leaf dying in propagation? What is the smaller leaf growing at the roots?
First time propagating a philodendren. Its been in water for 7 weeks growing roots. Why is this leaf dying? And what should i do with the smaller leaf growing out of the roots, just leave it? Help!
i think that the new growth is taking up all the energy of the plant, causing the older leaf to wilt. if the whole plant ends up dying, consider me wrong.

Leaves often die in propagation, it’s ok as long as the node is still loooking healthy. And the other commenter is correct, plants will usually focus their energy on either new growth, or roots.
