Hi all,
I recently got this tephrocactus geometricus with 2 ball growths. I watered for the first time since getting it a week ago yesterday, and today I noticed these small dots on the top cactus ball that didn’t seem to be there before.
The cactus is next to an east-facing window and gets a couple of hours of direct sunlight (through the glass) every afternoon. It does get colder at night but never below 50F.
I was looking at some similar past posts and can’t tell if it could possibly be a scale pest. The dots aren’t very raised and are very small, but the sudden appearance concerns me.
Does anyone have any experience with tephrocactus and have any advice? Thank you!!! ⛄️🌵

It looks like you may be asking about a cactus or succulent. In addition to any advice you receive here, please consider visiting r/cactus r/succulents for more specialized care advice.
A common problem with cacti and succulents is etiolation. This is when a succulent stretches or becomes leggy. Reply with “!etiolation” for advice.
