Japanese Garden

You’ve seen the house now see the shed before I renovate

Welcome to my shed / garage 🙂

A year later and I haven’t really touched this space beyond moving some things around.

Now it’s time to unlock new territory!

I’ve basically got to the point that I need to tidy this space up to find things more easily 😂 I’ll first build a custom work bench and shelf storage. Once that’s it’s in place I’ll be able to think more about what to do on the second floor.

Let me know of your ideas 🙂

  1. Can you rip down the sheet metal on the side of the door, and make it one big door? That would make getting the van in and out a lot easier, and make the building look better.

The roof structure is beautiful, way overbuilt, just the way I like it.

I'd epoxy coat the floor, throw up a peg board for tools, and add some metal storage cabinets to clean up the clutter, and just throw out a lot of the junk.

  2. Hello Matt, You really lucked out on that location. Now I don't really have a suggestion for your storage place as my Ham-radio brain comes with ham related Ideas. But have you thought of repurposing a old laptop and a webcam to stream the view on youtube (second / separate channel). Think that would be nice really to look out over the valley with the summer and in winter to see the snow fall. Just a silly Idea that isn't difficult to accomplish but would still be interesting to watch.

  3. I've seen maybe 3 of your videos now and haven't seen another soul or a car going by. You live in a ghost town.

  4. To use the shed you have to isolate the walls or it’s too hot or cold to use it. Perhaps you need a permission, too

  5. WHEN OUR MINDSET CHANGES,ALMOST EVERYTHING AROUND US CAN BE READY TO COMBINE TOGETHER THEN IT CAN BECOME POWERFUL.

    当我们的心态改变时,我们周围的几乎所有事物都可以准备好结合在一起,然后变得强大。

RULES ARE ACTUALLY GIVING US A TEST TO IMPROVE OURSELVES HOW BEST WE CAN BE IN LIFE.

    规则实际上是在考验我们,让我们在生活中如何做到最好。

  6. ditto: wouldn't be difficult to install a simple staircase, so it didn't encroach into the length of the shed so you could still park a vehicle in it. Thanks for posting.

  7. I dont know how permits work out there in Japan but looks like you might be able to even make it into a guest house and still have storage space for yourself.

  8. Because the winters are so bad there, I would really try to use the ground floor of the shed as a garage. Your car would be much happier there. Convert the 2nd floor into a home office/YT studio. I like your idea to add windows to the 2nd floor for the views.

  9. Would love to see a video about the cost of living over there, access to stuff like fibre internet where you purchased etc., average utility bills in summer vs winter, the number of english speaking people nearby

  10. Didn't know there is cheap property in Japan. You have done a good job in refurbishing your house. Keep up the good work. 🏡🥰

  11. Do you have a video on what made you decide to live in Japan, day to day experiences, language learning, income opportunities, etc. I just subbed to you. Great video. Cheers
