This season my cucumber 🥒 just horrible 😫 the taste, the explosion on the heat. Omg. I enjoyed 1st and last picking, in between that was horrible..😢
Cucumbers are not happy with the heat at all, i have sown more seeds but the weather still in the 100’s F. I hope I’m able to harvest some 😅
I live in Pacific Northwest and some of my cucumbers are pleasant and others are bitter. My lemon cucumbers are really good. All types were planted at the same time.

How do you process the seeds to get them ready for storage? Do you soak them to get the jelly off or do you let them dry with the jelly on? Great video! Thank you both 😊
I learned a trick years ago that can help draw the bitterness out. You cut off each end of the cucumber and then rub it in a circle against where you just cut it. You’ll see gel and foam form. You rinse the ends off under running water.

I’m starting to have mice issues as summer is ending and fall is approaching, thus my cucumbers haven’t fruited yet. I have flowers, but my concern is once I get fruit, I’m afraid mice might ruin the few I will have. So how have you controlled any mice problems?
I have read that if you allow a cucumber to grow to maturity, then the cucumber plant thinks it has fulfilled its job and will basically stop producing cucumbers. When Gary allows his cucumber to go extra ripe/yellow, does he have any concerns about essentially killing the cucumber plant itself? Or does he only do this toward the end of that cucumber plant’s production life when it’s expected to peter out anyway?
