  2. Oh Kaye, I’m offering up my prayers to you at this time. My father was put on hospice 10 years ago (2014) and within 4 days he was gone. One thing I did learn was that the last “sense” to go is our hearing. I found an old CD player, put some headphones in and played my father’s favorite Celtic music for him to hear. His eyes actually opened with the first song played, I made the “thumbs up” gesture and got one final nod from him. My father also orchestrated what to do once he passed. A complete “to do” list for my mother and for me. Nothing went to probate. Godspeed to you at this time. We will all keep you in prayer. Much love, Jules

  3. My heart is heavy for you my friend. Such a difficult time for a loving daughter such as you. You have beautifully honored her memory and shared her life until i feel I’ve known her. It hurts so deeply because of the precious memories and love. I do understand. ❤️‍🩹🙏

  4. I'm feeling where you're at in life. My mom is 87. She is here with me as of now and my goal is to keep it that way, but it's hard. Many factors could work against me. Take care of yourself. I know I stopped caring for me while my dad was passing.

  5. Oh my! I'm so sorry to hear this about your mama. My mother was born on a Kansas farm in 1916. She lived through the depression and only got to 8th grade. She married before her husband was shipped out to fight in WWII.

  6. I harvested my onions from the patch I planted, and I am confirming that nope, onion sets are NOT productive. "Juice wasn't worth the squeeze…" I planted over 40 way back in September. Despite frequent rain and shine … hardly grew. I got a little over a dozen small onions, although very tasty. The onions that did get big were the green onions I bought at the store and stuck in the ground for onion greens! Those onions are getting really big! That's my gardening lesson for 2024!! Lol! 😂

  7. Keep your chin up Kaye!! You are doing great! Nothing is perfect and we do what we can. I am praying for you as you help your Mom transition to the next glorious part of her life. Just think she will be in the presence of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will meet up with all her loved ones who have gone before. Hugs to you Kaye.

  8. I also went through this with my stepmother back in 2020. She was on hospice care. They had her on a pain pump and the more they increased the medication the quicker she faded. Her appetite dropped off dramatically. She did rally a little bit there at the end but then passed away peacefully that evening. I will be praying for you and your family and your mother. May she find peace and comfort in the Lord.

  9. Praying for your family. Planting more sweet luck late bloomer corn yesterday and today since summer decided to turn it up yet another notch this year. Lots of good videos on yt about protecting fig/fruit trees in winter, including wrapping a couple layers in burlap, or caging them and filling cage with leaves or maybe straw?? Hope we both get some figs next year!

  10. It's such a blessing to have your mother for so long. I lost mine when I was in my 40s. I pray you both have the peace that passes understanding. Your yard and gardens are beautiful. 🥰

  11. I'm sorry Kaye. It is hard watching our parents age. We took care of my father for a few years before he passed. Prayers for you and her.

  12. Prayers for you and family kaye. Be kind to yourself during this time . Maybe drop or change some expectations . Allow yourself to just be in whatsoever heart space you need to be in .blessings on your life and choices

  13. So sad to hear your Mother is declining . Praise the Lord she knows Him.
That is a beautiful color for the Hibiscus 🌺 🌺

  14. I am sorry to hear about your mother. I was sick last week and then so was my Mom. She celebrated her 97th birthday last week. and then she got my flu.. she has been off her meals since.. the fevber is done, but her strength is low.. sigh.. No garden for me this year just a handful of tomatoes.. but I haven't been home in 3 weeks now.. My husband lost his mom in may.. so that was another hit, but he is feeling a bit stronger now.. hugs

  15. So sorry to hear about your mother. It's always sad to see our parents leave us! After my mother passed on it was like, "I have no more mother and father,", just so sad. There just comes a time for them to go! Nancy from Nebraska

  16. I’m so sorry to hear this about your mom. God bless you & give you strength. I’m going through the same thing myself with my 84 yo mom & also learning of the passing of my brother. ❤
