Horseweed is right or as I call it- marestail. Those flowers that you have pictured will produce fluffy seeds that have the potential to float around in the air and blow around in the wind and fall great distances from the source plant, That’s how they got in your flower bed.

I’m letting my horse weed grow this season to harvest the stalks, dry them out, and teach the kids friction firr as the long straight stalks make great tools for a hand drill
