I have this monstera variegata cutting, but the roots have this brownish thing surrounding them. I tried to wash it off but it’s pretty sturdy and doesn’t even really let me scrub it off.
i know the plant was infested by mealy bugs and pretty sure the cutting was sitting in the same water for too long. when touching the roots they still feel pretty solid and if i scrape off the brownish thing they’re white underneath.
is this something to be concerned about? wouldn’t want to plant it only to be infested with something from the start…
