    Generally, overwatering causes mushroom growth.

    High humidity and a lot of rain or irrigation.

    I have them this time of here too. They are growing from an old root that was never taken out when two trees were removed.

    Mushrooms growing is a sign that there is organic material from something decomposing. I lost a tree in an ice storm a couple of years ago and the area around where its stump & roots are now decomposing has mushrooms whenever we get a lot of rain.
