I've been scraping off scale on one of my pere grafts. It started on the pere and now I'm seeing little specks on the T. Peruvian scion. Any idea why this is happening? Is there too much nitrogen in my nutrients?

Scale is a insect so I donโt think its from to much nitrogen. I would uproot it and take it to the sink to wash and scrub it all off. A soft tooth brush works well. Afterwards let it dry out, then check it for any you missed. It theres any left get a qtip and dip it in alcohol and remove them.
How big/thick does the Pere need to be to accept a graft?
