Edible Gardening

Plant gifts, anthurium chops, garden centre visit, & wonton soup 🥰

Welcome to another mish mash vlog! I filmed this one over 2 days: the first day my mission was to shop my collection for a birthday gift for my friend/coworker Anna, and chop one of my plants for a trade. The second day I had a lovely lunch with Charmaine and Anna, dropped by one of our most-frequented garden centres, and did some pest management. Hope you enjoy 🖤

  1. Ayye!! Just finished repotting and doing before the cold weather plant things to hop on YT and see a new video! 😊

  2. Alice I moved my Kartel Anthurium DF x FS baby away from the light in like that darkest part of my greenhouse. My larger lead plants shade the growlight. Maybe try that? I don't think they like much light, which seems to be thriving there because the leaves grow larger and darker, too.

  3. I love those cold, clear and sunny days, too, Alice. As long as I have sunshine I’m happy. That way I can tolerate fall and winter. 🥶

  4. Oh noooo, I'm 2 hours late! 😅 I love your videos! I need so much help on my baby anthuriums to get them thriving!! Vlog vlog vlog please, lol!

  5. awww i didn't know charmaine was preggo! congrats and hope you guys had fun on your big day out

  6. Yes!! I needed this video, i am about to pot up a crystallinum that I chopped and was going to pot it too deep. This video explained so much thank u!!!!

  7. Love you Alice! I'm a little jealous of your beautiful cool weather. South Florida is sweat city in the summer. Even in the ac its hot when doing chores.

  8. A general question about chopping anthurium: Is it fine to stick freshly cut stem in the soil? Are you risking rot if you do? Thats the main thing that still scares me about chopping mine <3

  9. I really enjoy watching your videos and learning new things about Anthurium. I have a question about using the spinosad. How do you dilute it to treat your substrate? Or is it safe to do that? I just bought a bottle of that kind you're using when I seen one of your recent videos about it.

  10. This was a lovely vlog I really enjoyed your time with the gals. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge it is helping me so much as I grow my Anthuriums.

  11. Every plant channel I watch is clammering about Palmstreet. I downloaded it but I find it too overwhelming. Is there a way to shop like a normal online shop?

  12. omg alice I made focaccia for the first time this past weekend!! what recipe did you use? I want to shop around for my favorite

  13. I HATE COLD 🥶.. but then I am old 😂😂😂😂 because it’s my 64(!!!!) birthday today

  14. I absolutely can relate! I love anything crossed with Luxurians….🤷🏻‍♀️ love these vlogs, going to plant shops, etc. I usually spray for spider mites every 3-4 days, they are such pains in the butt and annoying. For my soil mixes, I love using small chunks of charcoal, it helps keep the soil fresh.

  15. im only 14 mins in so sorry if you address this later in the vid, but i highly suggest buying a cheap handheld microscope before treating for flat mites! That way you can tell right away if that is indeed the problem, and dont waste all that time sulphur treating! (also ive found sulpur is sooo hard to wash off so it kind of just permently makes leaves ugly!)
