Plant Propagation

How exactly do I water prop this dying begonia?

It has a full set of roots but all the leaves fell off except one baby leaf that is slowly turning into dust. It’s just slowly getting worse and worse. Do I just put the whole stem and roots in the water? Do I need to worry about the nodes being submerged?

I’m reluctant to take it out again before getting advice, so the second pic is the root ball a few days ago. Not sure the condition now.

I got super paranoid about pests and root rot and gave the root ball a diluted hydrogen peroxide bath for like 30 mins 😫 then a repot. ever since then it’s been progressively going downhill. Also the soil is getting fuzzy which I assume is mold 😭😭😭😭

I’m like ready to give up on plants 🙁 I’m trying not to be too rash and hopefully give this plant a second chance at life?

Cut off the rot at the node (that line in the stem), maybe sprinkle some cinnamon in the water to prevent more rot, and you should be good
