My "I am Cactus" graft I posted previously didn't work for the second leg… one rubber band snapped and the first leg connection wasn't strong enough to keep it together so it collapsed. Looking at the scarred area on the first leg, it looks like it only had 2 small areas where the graft actually took, so it wasn't super stable…
On to the next trial…
I'm thinking optuntia might not be the best option for the body, its not super stable. Any other suggestions for the body portion? And can I just cut the scarred area on the top of the tricho legs and graft again?

Yes you can but you need to get the root stock hydrated before trying again. Because the Scion is a Scion there’s no way to hydrate it thought. Make sure to cut deep angles, sloped side against like this
